1924-2004

Carsten Bruce Borglum, 80, passed away on December 21, 2004. He was born March 3, 1924, in Easton, MN, the fourth child of Tenus and Gerda Borglum. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1942. He was a Naval Veteran of WWII and a graduate of Cornell University. Carsten and his family owned and operated the Hoss German Sausage Shops in Rochester from 1950 until 1970. After moving to Florida, he owned Bressler’s Ice Cream Shop in Winter Park and later was the assistant manager of the Valencia Community College Bookstore until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret; six children, Keith (Diane Cate), CA., Donna Macklin (Fred), OR., Craig (Kay Fortinberry), FL., Kurt (Carol), FL, Kenneth (Suzanne Hastings), FL., and Chris (Karen), FL. and eight grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Ardis Vokes, Fairport, NY; his brothers Gerald , Elkhart, IN and Dana, Gorham, NY, and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Knud, Greger, and Bartel.

Carsten’s ashes were buried May 14, 2005 in the Hoss family plot in Holy Sepulchre Cemetary, 2461 Lake Ave, Section 10, Lot/Tier:14, Grave 1N-E, Rochester NY.
