Obituary Allan Christ Borglum

 

Services were held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waseca, Minnesota with internment at Calvary Cemetery, Waseca, Minnesota

Allan Christ Borglum was born on May 12, 1930 to Dick and Agatha (Ziegler) Borglum in rural Easton, Faribault County, Minnesota. He attended Faribault County country schools. Allan was united in marriage to Gloria W. Hamson on March 22, 1950 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton.

The Borglums lived in the Easton area until 1959, when hey moved to their home in Wilton Township, rural Waseca. They farmed and raised their family of seven. In 1963 Allan started his farm drainage business, which he operated until poor health forced him to retire in 2000. Allan was a licensed pilot, and in his free time, he enjoyed flying.

He is survived by his four sons, Jerry, Richard (and Marie), Darrel (and Susan), and Raymond (and Shari), all of Waseca, Minnesota; by three daughters, JoAnn (and Larry) Kelling of Waldorf, Minnesota, Barbara Fennert and her special friend, Doug Miller of Owatonna, Minnesota, Tammy (and Paul) Engen of Bates City, Missouri; by 16 grandchildren; by two sisters, Martha (and Joe) Phillips of Good Thunder, Minnesota, Bernadine (and Jim) Peterson of Waldorf, Minnesota; by nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; by one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jim Volz, and one nephew, William Peterson.
